Thoughts on...Bring Me Home for Christmas

It's raining here. Perfect day to stay inside with a feel-good, happy-ever-after romance and I've got a great one for you. Robyn Carr has a delightful series centered in Virgin River, California. Virgin River is a small town, up in the mountains. And like small towns every where, everyone seems to know your business. And just because it's in California, don't think sunshine! This town is in the mountains and they actually have a heart attack season... first huge storm and lots of shoveling out. Then nine months later the midwife is busy ;)

The female main character, Becca, is not part of Virgin River. She came up with her brother, crashed his hunting and fishing party with his war buddies. Why would she do this? Well, one of the guys is her ex-boyfriend and she wants to make sure she's over him before she marries her current boyfriend.

The book is filled with people with big hearts and Becca sees the weather at it's worse and the town at it's best. Like I said, there's a happy ever after and ex-boyfriend becomes the one and only. Too bad he lives in Virgin River (North) and Becca lives in San Diego (South). Their journey to this point is rocky with lots of miscommunication and a busted ankle (Becca's) but the real question is....will Denny make Becca happy by packing up, quitting his jobs, and heading south to San Diego where Becca's family and friends are?

Bring Me Home for Christmas is actually book 16 in the series but is still a delightful read if you're not familiar with the Virgin River.
