I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

There are Rules ahem, Guidelines on the blog, just remember...the one main "rule" of FrightFall is that you must read ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart).

(click the title please, my read more link still isn't working {head bang}
if you know how to fix this, please let me know)

More info: All times are central standard time (CST) so adjust your time accordingly. Each read-a-thon starts at midnight Monday and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday.

Participants have until 10:00pm CST on the Tuesday after the read-a-thon to post their wrap-up and be eligible for the giveaway.

Last, but not least, I leave you with our read-a-thon credo, a week of relaxed reading during which we can personally challenge ourselves and whittle away those ever looming TBR piles/shelves/libraries. So, no pressure...EVER! Enjoy!

I'm still working on Gothic September and R.I.P reading challenges! I get to start two hours before midnight but have to finish two hours before midnight also and I always forget both.

My current list of books to pick from are:
  • Cover Your Eyes by Mary Burton
  • In Mint Condition - 2013 (short stories)
  • he House of Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne
  • The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
also the Dragonfire series has a good vs. evil vibe to it and can be scary in parts

Goals:
Finish and review Cover Your Eyes . . . read more of In Mint Condition 2013 . . . read a library book (non-scary) . . . read a dragonfire book

Progress:

Yay! So glad you're joining us again. Are you reading Seven Gables for my read-a-long at Castle Macabre? I'm SO behind. I need to get the midway check in posted today. Yikes!
