I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

J is for . . .

I'd like to introduce you to some of my favorite authors with a couple of favorite books thrown in because they have "J" titles.

This is part of the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. A fantasy land that is shaped a little like Florida, has touch-points with our world where some can cross over and puns run wild.

Some of my other favorite series by Mr Anthony include Apprentice Adept and Incarnations of Immortality.

I've taken a break from the puns but still bring out the other two series to re-read.

This is part of the Fool's Gold series by Susan Mallery, just one of several series of hers that I read. Fool's Gold is a small mountain town. One of those every-body-knows-your-business towns but is written so well, I want to move there! The town relies on tourist enough that they have at least one festival every month, I think it is actually two. The books are romance and all have been fun.

Her newest book is due out at the end of the month and has been pre-ordered.

This is part of the Grace Valley series. My favorite is the Virgin River series but these are not the only books Ms Carr write. Virgin River is also an every-body-knows-your-business kind of towns and if I can't move to Fool's Gold, I'll move to Virgin River.

I have no idea how long I've been reading Elizabeth Lowell. Her newest, Night Diver, is in the mail. Most of her books are romantic suspense.

um, I've been thinking and I think it has been 30 years. Wow, I've been reading several authors this long but only a couple are still writing.

Julia Quinn writes historical romance. This is a more recent author for me and I know I started reading her because of another author but I'm not sure which one.

This is by no means a complete list of favorite authors, just ones with J titled books that I could find quickly. Now for a couple of just for fun books.

picture book. The other third graders are growing their seedlings in paper cups but Holly decides to go a different route. This one has a funny twist.

The Judge Who Stole Christmas by Randy Singer.

Thomas Hammond and his wife play Joseph and Mary in the annual live nativity scene in their hometown. But a federal judge rules the display unconstitutional — and a Christmas showdown ensues. Thomas refuses to abide by the court order…and ends up in jail. From the courtrooms of Virginia to the talk shows of New York City, the battle escalates into a national media spectacle.

I LOVE puns! I'm a huge fan of Terry Pratchett and Jasper Fforde, so I'll have to check out the Xanth series!
